Minnesota Association of Pupil Transportation SPED Driver of the Year

Northstar Bus Lines School Bus Driver, Derek Anderson, has been awarded the SPED Driver of the Year by the Minnesota Association of Pupil Transportation (MAPT). This year, the Train the Trainer Conference was held in St.Cloud, MN. Northstar Bus Lines and American Student Transportation have always been proud attendants of the event, and this year was special as one of our long-time driver’s was given this prestigious award.

Derek Anderson has been with Northstar/ American Student Transportation since 2013. He is extremely passionate about driving a school bus, and working with special education students. Derek is at work everyday and always in good spirits. He definitely keeps a positive attitude and is known to project that energy wherever and with whomever he is around.

Receiving this award was a complete surprise to Derek. However, it was well deserved and he appreciated the recognition. Watch below as he is presented with his award.
